Once you have completed a test session using the Windows virtual machine, you need to do some cleanup before your next testing session. Below are the steps to follow.

  • Close all running versions of Firefox in the virtual machine.
  • Uninstall Firefox (Uninstall in Windows 10 - Uninstall in Windows 7)
  • Once the uninstall completes, open up the Windows File Explorer (Windows 10 - Windows 7)
  • Navigate to Users/IEUser/
  • Enable the Show hidden files and folders option (Windows 10 - Windows 7)
  • You should now see a folder called AppData
  • Navigate into the folder and then into the folder Local
  • Here you will see a folder called Mozilla, right click and delete
  • Next, go into the LocalLow, find and delete the Mozilla folder
  • Go back up to AppData, the into Roaming, find and delete the Mozilla folder
  • close the File explorer, and for good measure
  • Go ahead and clean out your Recycle bin

And you are done!

When you wish to start your next test session, install Firefox Developer Edition, and follow the instructions to configure Firefox, and install the XPI here.
