Default flow
Once you have completed all of the steps outlined in the getting started part of the docs, go ahead and launch the browser.
All of the notifications are governed by two time intervals. Note that there is also an initial 2 minute(24 hour) delay upon first launch of the browser.
- The first is a display duration of 24 hours.
- The second is an interval of 24 hours between each notification.
For the purposes of testing, these timers are set to 2 minutes each. You can thank me later ;}
With the browser open, go ahead and open a new tab. Close the new tab, and open new tab again. You should now see the first notification shown at the bottom of the page:
Click on the Sign up for sync
button. This should open a new tab such as the following:
Go ahead and close this new tab, as well as the tab that display the notification. Open a new tab again. You should now see the second of the notifications:
Click on the 'Get an Add-on` button. The main menu, top right should expand and highlight the 'Add-on' icon in the menu.
Click on the hamburger menu icon to close the menu, and go ahead and close the tab displaying the notification. Open a new tab. You should now see the third of the notifications:
Click on the Customize your search
button.
This should move focus to the search bar at the top of the browser, and also expand the drawer showing the various search options a user has.
Go ahead and close the tab showing the notification. Open a new tab. You should now see the fourth of the notifications:
Click on the Open Customize mode
button.
This should activate the hamburger menu and highlight the Customize
icon
Click on the hamburger menu icon to close the menu, and go ahead and close the tab displaying the notification. Open a new tab. You should now see the fifth of the notifications:
Click on the 'Open a Private Window` button. This will activate the hamburger menu, expanding the menu, and highlighting the Private Browsing icon in the menu.
Click on the hamburger menu icon to close the menu, and go ahead and close the tab displaying the notification. Open a new tab. You should now see the sixth, and final of the notifications:
Click on the Make Firefox your Default Browser
button.
You should be presented with a system dialog similar to the following:
Click to keep your current default browser. Close the tab displaying the notification. Open a new tab. There should now be no modification to the new tab page.
