Is it possible to do a new release v.3.17.3 so that the fix from PR #8557 can be used? This would allow all people with a new Apple M1 to work with Protobuf normally again.

I'm still working on it, hoping it will be out today but I will let you know!

Unfortunately there were delays in the process so won't be out today but it's still my top priority to get the release in.
