Extracting saves from Steam (to port to another console)

Tools

  • None :)

Guide

  1. Locate your FFX save location for your computer.

  2. Take note of the file path to your ffx_XXX file, where XXX is the save slot number from 001-999 (e.g. ffx_000).

You can use these save file(s) as the inputs to the program.

Guide

  1. Locate your FFX save location for your computer.

  2. Rename the generated save file in the format ffx_XXX file, where XXX is the save location number from 001-999. (For instance, rename it to ffx_001 to make it the second save slot location.)

  3. Copy this file to the save file location from step 0.

  4. Load the save file on your PS3 (it may look weird, but this is normal).

  5. Use an in-game save point to save the game. (Either to a new save slot or overwriting the existing slot.) This will fix the weirdness.

And now you're done!
