I've created an alternate fix for the jcasc test in basil#1 that can be merged into this pr

Note that the Docker-based tests are failing with RUN apk add aufs-util --repository https://dl-cdn.alpinelinux.org/alpine/edge/testing, which is the same error that is present on the main branch. Since this PR has not introduced a regression here, I have no intention of addressing this failure.
