How do you begin a project?
Well, the simple answer is: begin at the beginning.
It's not really that simple, however. Most things in life assume a basic familiarity with tools, terminology, and process.
Open Source projects are no different in that regard. When someone comes fresh into an open source initiative or project, there's a number of factors that other participants often assume a newcomer might have.
The purpose of StepZero is to provide illumination on:
common tools used in open source projects
terminology a new participant may encounter (such as industry acronyms and jargon)
