Made a few changes to utils.remove_punctuation() and utils.validate_string() and made them slightly faster.
remove_punctuation() is now one third faster
validate_string() is locked down at an apparently steady speed.
Also added a few benchmarks to benchmarks.py so you can confirm the improvements.
