A gazebo 1.9 prerelease is in the build farm with a completion around 2pm today.

The package is called "gazebo-prererelease", and it's built off of the "gazebo_1.9" branch.

We have the debs here: http://packages.osrfoundation.org/gazebo/ubuntu/dists/precise/main/binary-amd64/Packages

There's a few issues though. It has dependencies on ros-fuerte-console-bridge and ros-fuerte-urdfdom*. And it's missing the raring version.

@wjwwood and I will work on releasing console-bridge and urdfdom* as rosdistro independent packages.

gazebosim.org went down right around the time the gazebo debs we built. They didn't complete correctly. I'm starting a new build now.

gazebo-prerelease 1.9.3-1 and sdformat 1.4.0 have been imported from the osrf repo. For precise and quantal.

You should get sdformat 1.4.2; it has some important fixes.

Note that performance can be very bad with this prerelease. We're looking into that issue.

gazebo_ros_pkgs needs to be rereleased with gazebo now removed from the distro. It's trying to install ros-hydro-gazebo instead of the rosdep as a package in the distro takes precedence.

This release has a couple of fixes:

It's also testing a change to our release script to support raring as
an experimental distro. With 3 distros on 2 architectures, it'll take

I've landed gazebo 1.9.4-2 into the repos including raring. This also includes sdformat 1.4.3 on all platforms except raring which is 1.4.2

These packages aren't installable for quantal and raring as they depend on libbullet not libbullet-dev or libbullet2.80 which are what are upstream in ubuntu. Ticketed at: https://bitbucket.org/osrf/gazebo-release/issue/43/bullet-dependency-on-quantal-and-raring

I'm not sure why but this concerns me:

                     Depends: sdformat but it is not going to be installed.

Is this what you are talking about in the previous comment or should we also be concerned about sdformat not being installed?
