Actually this may not be as simple as I thought. It looks like the checks don't run, but they're still required. GitHub has a few suggestions here: https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/configuring-branches-and-merges-in-your-repository/defining-the-mergeability-of-pull-requests/troubleshooting-required-status-checks#handling-skipped-but-required-checks.
