(Otherwise you cannot run the tests for an OCaml version that does not pass the compat-test.)
It would be nicer to make sure that BatUChar is a superset of the stdlib Uchar module, and that the two types are compatible, but that requires more work.

After this is merged I'd like to do a release, which would be the first to come with the
