Comments on Anonymous Uploads on Public Shares #2019
Comments
The report is fine here, comments and public link sharing both come from this repo, so all good. However the issue is not that trivial and has a snake trail of problems |
this feature is exactly what I am looking for. I need an option for public uploads which make it easy to add name and email address of uploading person |
my suggestions: Anonymous comments could be useful for any shared nextcloud url:
|
This feature would be really welcome. It would be great if you could either leave a comment when uploading, or if the sharer could make it mandatory to leave the comment. We receive many assignments /orders via filedrop and very often we have to get in contact with the client afterwards to get case-numbers and similar information. If this kind of info could be entered in a comment while uploading to the file drop, that would make our lives a lot easier! |
This feature would be very useful. We are an advertising agency and always need to create a new user account for our customers so they can comment on the files they've sent us. Omitting this step would greatly improve our workflow. |
Sounds like the perfect usecase for the guests app: https://github.com/nextcloud/guests |
I'm here to state my support aswell, I'm trying to have the student nucleus to change from Gdrive to Nextcloud, and because it's a type of system where everybody contributes but all information must be filtered first, and because the administrator isn't obviously assigned to all classes, each time something changes (bibliography, lecture notes, program, etc.) the students can add it as a comment as a warning to everybody else until the administrator has time to change it. |
I would love such a feature. Right now I am not able to talk with participants that are logged out about our plans because we have no file comment available. |
You could trying using Talk for this. Might fill the gap as far guest
access.

It would be neat to have an option to show the comments too, not just write them. Use case : adding comments to a photo gallery. |
Server configuration
Steps to Reproduce:
How it behaves:
People can upload their files, but cant make a comment or give additional information
How it should behave:
Anonymous Users should be able to create a Comment to their Uploaded File to give Information about it. As Creator of that comment nextcloud could just call him "Anonymous User". This should work too, if the Anonymous Users are not allowed to see the Data-List of that share.
I guess that is a feature request and not an Issue and im not sure if the App "comments" is a 3rd-Party-App or not. If im wrong here, just delete or close it :)
