Markdown has inverted colors when using *

As you can see in the screenshot I already set:

let g:gruvbox_italic = 0
let g:gruvbox_italicize_strings = 0
let g:gruvbox_italicize_comments = 0

My TERM is screen-256colors but when using rxvt-unicode-256colors this problem doesn't show.

Is there any workaround for this?

Oh, and by the way: that's ok, but you don't have to manually set g:gruvbox_italicize_strings and g:gruvbox_italicize_comments just to get italics disabled - g:gruvbox_italic should supersede them. Using italicize_* options would make a sense only when you've got g:gruvbox_italic enabled.
