English spelling is dumb, I'm sorry. FYI, I think you've misheard the idiom "best of luck" as the German "beste luck", which is understandable because the "of" is usually heavily reduced in pronunciation.

I think I meant best luck, and my German muscle memory kicked in and made it beste, what means best in German.
