Please look at the web app with a fully maximized browser window. If you minimize the window the bootstraps span thing kicks in and it looks really weird and scrunched up. It will still function, but it will look really messed up.

AUTHORIZATION:

I just did what the phase 5 spec sheet said for authorization:

Guests can only view the guest dashboard, business links, and dojo index and show pages.

Members can view everything a guest can, and also their own show page. On their dojo show page they can also see their dojo’s current students. On their dashboard they can see their next 5 upcoming sections registered for, their last 5 completed sections, and 5 upcoming sections they are eligible for. They can edit their student name, birthdate, phone, activity, and waiver signed. Members can also edit their user email and password, but I did not know how to put in an old password confirmation so if they are logged in they can change it without putting in their old one.

Admins can CRUD everything. Their dashboard has a student search bar and lists that include the 5 most recent section registrations and dojo assignments, and lists of sections that have completed (date passed) but final standings were not entered, and sections that were completed and updated with final standings.

CRUD stuff:

To create a registration you can either go to the student’s page or the section’s page and click register this section/student to be taken to a registration page. You can toggle fee_paid and then click Register to create it. To edit/update a registration (to enter final standings) you can go to a section/student show page and click edit registrations. For sections, if the date passed you will bee able to set final standings for the registrations. For students, if the particular registration’s section date passed, you can change the final standing, but otherwise there is no dropdown. For those edit pages hitting one “UPDATE” button only submits the changes for that one registration (it’s a pain, but I couldn’t get it to submit with one button).

To create a dojo_student, you go to a student’s show page and at the bottom select a dojo and hit “add dojo record.” This will create a new current record with start_date as today. I know this isn’t ideal if you are trying to create an old history, but you can make several like this then edit them. At least this way you can add new ones onto existing histories, if you know what I mean. To destroy, you need to go into the “edit dojo records” page through the student show.

I made destroy buttons available for all the models. Even though we’ve stated that some things (like students) can’t be destroyed, I left them in just in case.

Other stuff:

There’s also a search students bar at the top of the student index page.

When I try to destroy a student and it is prevented, it doesn’t make the student inactive. Don’t know why. Maybe because this is dev db? idk

I added a couple scopes to DojoStudent and a couple methods here and there but they’re all covered. The only method not covered is the create_map method in dojo model needed for making the map, but I figure we don’t need to test that (since I don’t know how to).
