[Issue]: Modal closes on mouse press up if outside the dialog

Please describe your bug

The issue apply to modal dialogs such as those used when you edit the metadata for instance.
Once such a dialog is open on screen, releasing the mouse when outside the dialog area will close the dialog and lose the changes

Reproduction Steps

1. open "edit metadata"
2. click and move to select the content of the title field for instance. Do not release the mouse
3. move the mouse outside of the dialog
4. release the mouse
