Arduino code for a basic adjustable timer for a Canon 550D. This is my first proper attempt at a non-trivial Arduino project, so bear with it. It uses the SimpleTimer library, available from: http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Code/SimpleTimer This was built against an Arduino Ethernet board (i.e. one of these http://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/ArduinoBoardEthernet). As such, certain pins are omitted as they are reserved for the Ethernet interface and SD card. Arduino pin-mappings -------------------- The pin-mappings are as follows: 0. Not used 1. Not used 2. 4-digit 7-segment LED display (4d7s) - pin 14 3. 4d7s - pin 16 4. 4d7s - pin 13 5. 4d7s - pin 3 6. 4d7s - pin 5 7. 4d7s - pin 11 8. 4d7s - pin 15 9. 4d7s - pin 8 (via 220 Ohm resistor) 10. (aka ETHCS) - 4d7s - pin 6 (via 220 Ohm resistor) 11. (aka MOSI) - 4d7s - pin 2 (via 220 Ohm resistor) 12. (aka MISO) - 4d7s - pin 1 (via 220 Ohm resistor) 14. (aka A0) - Rotary Encoder - left pin 15. (aka A1) - Rotary Encoder - right pin 16. (aka A2) - IR LED via 220 Ohm resistor Other pins: * 4d7s - pin 4 - +5v via 1k Ohm resistor * 4d7s - pin 12 - GND * Rotary Encoder - center pin - GND Referenced sources ------------------ Lots and lots of existing tutorials were used to help get this going. These include: * http://allaboutee.com/2011/07/09/arduino-4-digit-7-segment-display-tutorial/ - for the 4-digit 7-segment LED display; * http://www.circuitsathome.com/mcu/reading-rotary-encoder-on-arduino - for the Rotary Encoder; * http://www.ladyada.net/learn/sensors/ir.html - for decoding and encoding the IR signals. There were various others I tried at points, but these were the ones that seemed to work best for me. If you spot similarities to other tutorials I've not mentioned, let me know and I'll add creds where I've missed them.
