fix focus to work like an earlier version did

If I use the keyboard to tab to the wrapper first, and then hit Enter to go to options, and then hit tab to navigate between options, it now instead closes the dropdown (goes to the hidden end element). It used to let me navigate between options on the first try. Now I have to focus on the hidden end element first for the Enter key to actually let me navigate between options. This seems to have been due to a recent enhancement that broke the behaviour.

So tabbing from the right side works, but tabbing from the left side doesn't (until the hidden end element on the "right" side of the select options is focused first).
