@Joerger Let's roll this out in Teleport 9 (so after we release Teleport 8). It's too late in the release process to make this change. |

This PR is an example of the automatic changes which will occur on major releases once #8484 is merged.
For this example, I just updated the version in Makefile to
Version=8.0.0and ranmake version. To release the API from there, you would just need to runmake update-tagto tagapi/8.0.0. Once merged, the new version would show up in https://pkg.go.dev/github.com/gravitational/teleport/api.These steps are already undertaken in the release-checklist.
