assam is an R package associated with the manuscript with a working title "Approximate and scalable finite mixture models for clustering species environmental responses in ecology" by Hui and others, which is currently in preparation. Such model-based clustering of species according to their environmental responses, into a small number of so-called "archetypal responses" is also known in ecology as species archetype models, after Dunstan et al., (2011), Dunstan et al., (2013) and Hui et al., (2013).
Currently, assam is available and can be installed from Github with the help of devtools package using:
devtools::install_github("fhui28/assam")
If you find something that looks like a bug/issue, please use Github issues and post it up there. As much as possible, please include in the issue:
- A description of the bug/issue;
- Paste-able code along with some comments that reproduces the problem e.g., using the reprex package. If you also have an idea of how to fix the problem, then that is also much appreciated.
- Required data files etc...
