Hi I have tried all the ways on coinbase and metamask and have contacted both for help several times, only to be fobbed off and I have to try and re install a lost wallet with everything I have. I have all the encrypted data, the salt, the original address and creation data, I am useless with vs code as I am not a coder, are there any step by step instructions that can help me gain access back to my account? The seed phrase wont install it and just brings up totally different addresses. Surely from the data I have there must be a way to get my private key back? |

If you have the mnemonic from metamask and you re-enter it into metamask, it should work without issue as the password (I don’t believe) is used in the BIP-39 derivation. There can be problems if you generated the mnemonic on a Ledger and are trying to import it into MetaMask, for example. So if you created it into one client, you should try re-opening in the same client. Did you have multiple accounts on the mnemonic? You might just need to scan for additional addresses when you import it. Whatever you do, do NOT share your mnemonic of any of the data with anybody else. |
