I want to mess with spawning of commands to address #94 and #87, but figured it would be good to make sure not to break windows completely.

I have not set up appveyor yet for this repo ... I set up a clone on my personal github to play around. https://ci.appveyor.com/project/kategengler/totally-not-a-local-copy-of-ember-try

Copied most of appveyor.yml from ember-cli repo.

Update:
I have a setup that runs some commands on appveyor and fails if any of them fail. Bad news: It seems like --config-path isn't working on windows (or at least the appveyor setup with these commands). I've been at this a few hours and my lack of a windows machine to fool around with means that I am now giving up.
