I have decided to go with just installing from apt-get rather than worrying about needing to download the tarball for now.

As of Oct 4, 2020 I could not get the toolbox to work due to issue labelled here: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/TBX-4644 I have since resorted to just installing the standalone version
