I looked up your RSS feed (in case you also want to add it so that the PyLadies bot can promote your content on Mastodon! 😍) I looked yours up and it should be: https://christyheaton.github.io/feed.xml (you can see the demo here)
So, if you agree, it's basically adding another line "rss_feed": "https://christyheaton.github.io/feed.xml", to the JSON :)
To keep the feed clean, you can also consider adding a Python category (Python for instance for Python-related posts) and get the RSS feed from this one. Let me know what you think 😊
