v1.55.2 requested to fix a downstream issue in Warewulf.

Original issue: Container import from directory with sockets fails warewulf/warewulf#892
Local issue: copy.DirCopy fails when encountering sockets #2113
Original PR: Update copy.DirCopy to leave sockets in the file system #2117
Backport: Backport pull request #2117 to release-1.55 #2159
