I have trouble in forcing CUDA compilation. Probably it is just easier to wait for the meson build system, see ralna/spral#132 .

The meson build system got merged: ralna/spral#141, we should switch that as part of the next version that includes it (to avoid any ABI incompatibility due to the build system change).

Meson + CUDA is now available: ralna/spral#183 . We can now revisit this after #9 is merged.
