Preserve history from bc?

Should we preserve the history when copying files from swcarpentry/bc?

I thought it was pretty unfortunate, personally, when we didn't preserve
history from the bootcamps repo (when moving to bc). So, I'd recommend
making every effort to preserve history now. It's not super difficult and
people have personal investment in their contributions. Shouldn't we walk
the provenance talk that we talk?

Absolutely: we're importing history for all the lessons, and we will
import it for the template files as well. While we're waiting for a
usable trace of the history, though I'd like to get comments and
improvements to the stuff we want that imported history to lead to.

We need a volunteer to extract and merge the history of bc's index.html and the setup instructions - anyone?
