The preprint for BEP006 has been published, soon to be submitted to Nature Scientific Data. But there is some work that remains to be done.

Here is a suggestion on how to proceed with the final steps of BEP006. Different approaches welcome, but I think it'd be good to have a central public space where this is discussed.

  1. Getting feedback on the preprint and the current state of the extension by the community in the Google Doc
  2. Start a pull request in this bids-standard/bids-specification repository to merge the BEP006 specification in form of a markdown document, similar to the MEG document ... see [ENH] Merge bep006 and bep010 #108
  3. Once all feedback has been obtained and worked into the PR for bids-specficiation, merge the main text of BEP006 into master
  4. Once this merge is completed, remove the bep006 flags from the bids-validator, see https://github.com/bids-standard/bids-validator/pull/681/files
  5. Once the validator accepts EEG data, merge the EEG examples branch
  6. At this point, all extensions (specification, validator, examples) have been merged into the main specification ... then we can start tracking outstanding enhancements, which we'll find by their EEG tag in either of the main bids-standard repositories on GitHub

Agreement or disagreement+alternative suggestions are welcome!
