Hello participants and voters of the AtomOne Logo Design Competition!

FOR DESIGNERS
Please upload your logo submissions right in the comments of this issue. The deadline for submissions is 13th of May 2024, 11:59 PM UTC.

Each valid submission must contain: Full Size Logo ( include an icon + typography ) Short Logo ( coin logo to be used as a token logo in UIs (wallets, explorers, trackers)).

• you can submit the entry in any format
• participants are permitted to submit designs previously shared in similar discussions under the https://github.com/atomone-hub GitHub repository, provided they are using the same account that was used for submitting the original design
• each participant can submit up to maximum 2 individual entries
• all logo entries should come in 3 colors out of which white and black are mandatory
• the use of AI is not allowed
• AiB may decide to split the reward if your work builds on work previously submitted on GitHub by someone else

FOR VOTERS
Anyone with a registered GitHub account can vote on the submissions, starting on the first day of the competition, meaning April 22nd, 2024 and running until the end of the voting period, which is May 20th, 2024, 11:59 PM UTC.

4 winners will be announced by May 31st, 2024, 11:59 UTC. Once announced, the winners will be reached out and rewarded, and their logos will be put on GovGen chain for assessing community’s sentiment. Please, read the README and Terms and Conditions for full details.

@AidarItkulov Could a rebranding that could also involve the name of the chain be taken into consideration or would it violate the guidelines? I have an idea that I already shared with Jae a few months ago. A simple but sensible and effective rebranding.

As already hypothesized a few months ago on X (formerly Twitter), my proposal involves a slight inclination of the current Cosmos logo (as already happened with some forks involving Bitcoin). In this proposal I also added a '1' in the center, so the logo (although simple) is the intuitive and effective representation of the union of the Atom and 1 symbols.

As happens with almost all symbols linked to other blockchains or protocols, even in this case I proposed the same logo to represent ATONE, to have continuity and to avoid creating confusion in the community.

Obviously the thickness of the lines, the font and the color palette can possibly be adapted to the community's requests before any adoption and advertising.

Even if this proposal cannot participate, I would still like to share what I think with the community. The following text below is an excerpt from a conversation I had with Jae on Twitter.

While Atom One and ATONE are solid options, I'd like to propose an alternative that aims to maintain a level of distinction from the original Cosmos network: “Atmosphere”.

Here are a few reasons why Atmosphere could be a compelling choice:

• Uniqueness: The name Atmosphere is not currently in use by other blockchain projects, ensuring a distinct identity for the forked network.

• Continuity with ATMO Ticker (and affinity with ATOM Ticker): Notably, the proposed ticker ATMO aligns with the first four letters of Atmosphere. This continuity can help ease the transition for users familiar with the original ATOM token.

• Fork-Friendly Image: By choosing a name distinct from Cosmos, such as Atmosphere, the forked network can present itself as a friendly and independent project. This approach is likely to be more appealing to both investors and users who may be hesitant to engage with a project that closely resembles the one it forked name from (examples are all forks of Bitcoin and Ethereum).

In essence, Atmosphere encapsulates a sense of uniqueness, availability, and continuity while promoting a positive and independent image for the forked network.

Essentially Atom One would be replaced by Atmosphere while Photon would be replaced by Hydrosphere (It would be almost useless to point out how much sense there is in associating liquid staking with Hydrosphere).

Continuing with this logic it would make sense to replace GAIA with Lithosphere. Just like Gaia, the Lithosphere (although in strictly scientific jargon and not linked to Greek mythology) is also associated with the earth.

Maybe it's not strictly necessary, but I have to admit that it would be extremely fun (as well as being equally sensible) to call the ecosystem that would be created thanks to Atmosphere the term 'Biosphere'.

This is what the ATMO and HYDRO tokens would look like.

@th3nyst1c First of all, thank you for all the work that's been done. Obviously, it took a lot of care to propose something like this. I would like to offer you to do the following:

• Select two of the logos that you've proposed. I'm seeing at least three different logos here, but per competetion's rules we accept only two. I understand that it may not be ideal for you, but Atmosphere for example can be edited out to be AtomOne retaining the original icon of Atmosphere.
• Submit your entries according to the guidelines of the competition (color variations, different versions, etc.)

That would ensure your place in the mix from which we're gonna select the winning concepts.

Here's the part that should answer your questions and concerns:

Anyone with a registered GitHub account can vote on the submissions, starting on the first day of the competition, meaning April 22nd, 2024 and running until the end of the voting period, which is May 20th, 2024, 11:59 PM UTC. The votes will contribute to the All In Bits decision-making process for selecting the winners but will not be the only determining factor. As part of this competition, All in Bits reserves the right to designate other winners beyond the most voted choices by the community. The All in Bits team will evaluate all submissions and will announce the winners by May 31st, 2024, 11:59 PM UTC.

The GitHub voting is the reactions (emojis) and comments that community members leave to show their appreciation of the logo submissions. This can't be a huge factor in determining the winners, because GitHub reactions can be easily gamed. If your entry stands out among other contenders the absence of positive reactions won't be a problem. In other words, don't worry about 'likes'.

After weeks of creativity, effort, and community participation, we have selected the top designs that, in our assessment, could potentially represent the AtomOne brand. With much deliberation we have decided on two standout contributions that were original, not AI-generated, of great caliber and did not have any conflicts with existing logos in use.

Just a note; It's difficult enough to create a good logo that is distinct from existing logos, but also a ludicrous amount of logos were upon inspection direct copies of other logos. We did investigate every plausible logo here.

I would also love to know what was copied and ai generated in your opinion. For example i know our designer spent 2.5 days with face in computer, let alone a weeks research (which included personal participation of many hours). Happy for the winners. Disappointment to see those comments

Hello @AidarItkulov would anyone be kind enough to clear the bad impression left. We invested time in this and frankly got offended by your companys try to shake it off by just mentioning a lot of copies and not aknowledging the fact they turn out to be uncompetent to recognise clear copying. This was 'advertised' as a 4 reward competition, although you could have give none of the awards, but your representation of the competition is called misleading. Also, how much were the two rewards given? Since your fond was supposed to be 20K+ we don't even have the information if the whole amount was split in half or just two rewarded with promoted sums. I challenge @jaekwon to stand to your belief and show up with that logo you consider original so that Investor Relations and their legal team can have their say on your design expertise. Now, that is what RIDICILOUS looks like.

I know it's been some days since you commented, but I posted this comment on Discord and thought I'd share here.

The READ ME file attached to the GitHub post is clear on AiB's rights with regards to the competition:

"All in Bits, as the organizer of this competition, reserves the right to select the winners in accordance with the outlined guidelines and requirements."

"Total maximum prize pool for this competition is $28,000, which will be awarded to a maximum of 4 winning submissions, each in the amount of $7,000."

"Following the communicated deadline, up to 4 winning submissions will be listed as individual proposals on GovGen for the community to vote on as its preferred logo."

FWIW, it is common practice within the design industry and competitions to not award the maximum amount of submissions.

I joined the contest hoping for a fair evaluation, but this situation feels unfair
