What differentiates this integration from SAIC-iSmart-API/saic-home-assistant-addon?

Hi,
I'm using the SAIC-iSmart-API HA add-on today. It works well most of the time, but I'm having some issues with it. So I'm looking for alternatives.
What would you say are the differences between the aforementioned add-on and this integration?

One obvious thing is just that one is an add-on and the other is a custom integration, but I can't really tell which is better of the two methods.

Another difference is that the SAIC-iSmart-API HA add-on has support for ABRP. That's not really a show stopper for me though...

So, what are the difference between the two solutions? Not only in terms of features/functionality, but also regarding how well it works.

I never used the add-on, so I am not really able to tell you about the differences, if there's really any.

The integration uses the same API, but with some improvements on login handling and retries. Aside from that (excluding the climate heating, which I am try to solve) everything else works pretty much well and with the same features and data that you would get on iSmart app.

No ABRP support. But as far as I understood from another user, the Instant Power sensor might be enough for you to link to their API and send the necessary data to build the gap yourself. At least that's my understanding. I do not really use ABRP.

The only thing I can recommend is for you to try the integration and compare it with the add-on yourself. See what suits better your needs and decide from there.

I have one question though...With the SAIC-iSmart-API HA add-on I have problems with that the connection seems to be lost at times. Most often when the car is charging and/or overnight.
Is this something that you are aware of, and/or ar having trouble with, and maybe this is handled differently in this integration?

This is my biggest problem at the moment, and I can't really tell if it's because of the add-on itself, or if it's in the API.

The integration, as the add/on, both work with the data from the API. It may happen that the MG API is not able to connect with the vehicle "poor cell coverage" for example or any other matter. In this case, the result of both will be the same.

Also, this integration also discards "generic responses" which may cause you to not receive updates as often in case the vehicle reports generic data and not "real" values.

I use this integration via HACS, for two cars in my HA. The login is via two Secondary Accounts, one for each car.

This Integration is for me stable and reliable. With other words, I highly recommended it.
