When the left file is empty and the right file's last line does not have an EOL (End of Line), performing the following steps causes a "Debug Assertion Failed!" message to appear:

  1. Enable Align similar lines option
  2. In the left pane, press Ctrl+A.
  3. Press the Del key.
  4. Press the F5 key.
