(based on 2.1.1 specification document)

Problem: The HoliSoils project datasets are difficult to distinguish from Thünen's own data products. The HoliSoils color scheme and logo cannot be displayed.

Objective: The data records of the HoliSoils project should be findable in ATLAS. At the same time, however, the data records should also be able to be found pre-filtered on a separate portal page. The geonode-subsites module published on GitHub (https://github.com/geosolutions-it/geonode-subsites) is to be used as the technical basis for this. The aim is to transfer the datasets to the portal only once and display them in different views.

Points to finalize:
1- How is the GeoNode subsite app to be integrated into the thuenen_atlas. As a fork of the subsite repo or a separate app?
2- How is the UI going to be I:e., should it be copied exactly as holisoils.de?

Additional information:
This involves a multi step process.

  1. The geonode-subiste app needs to get integrated into the current thuenen_atlas like those listed here: https://github.com/Thuenen-GeoNode-Development/thuenen_atlas/tree/thuenen_4.x/geonode/apps. The still open question is how to incorporate the changes:
  1. The development of project templates for the HoliSoils project itself. Those are Show project partners #26 and Enable layout customizations #25 and will follow this approach: https://github.com/geosolutions-it/geonode-subsites?tab=readme-ov-file#override-subsite-template

Is deployed and the creation of a subsite was tested. The filter for ressources belonging to a dedicated holisoils group is working as expected:

https://geonode-demo.thuenen.de/holisoils/#/

Currently the instance is only accessible via Thünen LAN / VPN.
