Collaborative repo for those interested in improving/modifying Natron's UI/UX.
This is a repository for anyone interested in UI/UX design to work together on improving Natron's GUI. Feel free to discuss UI issues, come up with new designs, or showcase your own designs of Natron.
Currently, the design is in its 4th iteration (Version 4.0). To learn more, contribute or see the latest designs, go to the v4 folder.
My design process is very simple - learn, design, and record. I take time to learn UI design and Inkscape, then design my UI concepts in Inkscape, and lastly, publish my work (and extensive design documentation) onto git
, where I can share with others.
I've always wanted for this project to be part of the Open Design movement - like a Dribbble without the proprietary bits. That's why I continue to share work in the hackable SVG format, which doesn't require expensive software to open, and can be viewed with just a web browser.
Every design you see in this repository was made in 100% free and open-source software. I've used Inkscape to create nearly all of my UI mockups, and I'm still staggered to see how amazing Inkscape performs in UI design (it was never designed to do this). Once Akira becomes mature enough, I will incorporate it into my workflow as well.

- Suggesting a UI/UX feature
- Creating UI/UX mockups
- Adding to the documentation of this repo
- (Politely) giving criticism of other's designs
