How to update to latest version?

I can't figure out which version 3.x I'm on. And it seems that there has been quite a few versions since I got it up and running, how do I do an update?

Since some time, the running version is displayed on startup like

[INFO] Starting Radicale (radicale=3.4.0 vobject=0.9.8 passlib=1.7.4 defusedxml=0.7.1)

And it seems that there has been quite a few versions since I got it up and running, how do I do an update?

If you are not a release by distribution, download the latest release (or even clone github) and simply replace the files in the radicale sub-directory. One can also think about using a softlink and rename the current sub-directory to radicale-old and the new one with radicale-new and switch between adjusting the softlink.

Thanks!
