GDG IGDTUW is thrilled to announce SnowScript Winter of Code, our very own open-source event! This program is the most extensive open-source initiative ever organized at IGDTUW, aimed at creating learning opportunities for women in technology.
Google Developer Groups on Campus (GDG) is a community of developers backed by Google. Our mission is to solve local problems using Google technologies.
We aim to:
- Inspire, challenge, and motivate passionate innovators—especially women—to pursue their careers in Open Source.
- Develop innovative solutions to address real-world challenges.
Participants will work on numerous projects under our guidance. Our skilled mentors will nurture and polish your technical skills as you contribute to various projects from the comfort of your home during the contribution period.
- Browse Projects: Go through the projects listed on our website or GitHub repository and find one you feel comfortable contributing to.
- Explore Issues: Look at the existing issues of your selected project and find one that interests you. Alternatively, you can create issues on your own.
- Tag Maintainers: Tag repository maintainers (mentioned in the README) if you encounter any problems.
- Get Issue Assigned: Wait for the issue to be assigned to you before starting your work.
- Fork the Repository: Create a branch for the issue you’re working on.
- Submit Your Work: Create a Pull Request (PR), mentioning the issue no. and the changes made by you. It will be promptly reviewed, and suggestions will be provided if needed.
- Add Screenshots: Attach screenshots to your PR to demonstrate your contribution.
- Follow Repository Guidelines: Each repository's README contains specific contribution guidelines.
- Be Respectful: Avoid abusive language and ensure inclusivity.
- Eligibility for Prizes: Mention your full name in your GitHub profile.
- Ends: 15th February 2025 at 11:59 PM IST
