Vite recommends using the `sass-embedded` package with `api: "modern-compiler"` for the best performance. Source: https://vite.dev/config/shared-options#css-preprocessoroptions
This replaces the version in the `assets` directory.
It has been replaced with the component function `socialMediaNotice`.
The original implementation was not always initializing them so the `useEffect` hook is used to initialize the popovers after adding the MFA methods.
The in-place footer was set to `<!--footer-->` in the Markdown templates, but was updated in 90b7725 to be `<!-- footer -->`.
