Should we fix things to bump to v8 instead? it's live for 2 weeks it'll only get worse.

that was my assumption when I saw it sitting there for a while now. I know other hybrid SDKs needed a version bump because of the API level change.

The later - I haven't had time to look into it yet (and we don't desperately need anything from it).
