### Why are we doing this work

After completing extended research and analysis into the technical, organisational and design problems for the CPD digital service in summer 2023, a recommendation to separate the NPQ and ECF applications to improve data integrity and increase the flexibility of the service to respond to changes in policy in future.

How do we know we're successful?

• All of the most common known scenarios have been tested by lead providers and by DfE
• We have monitoring and alerting set up to ensure the service is running smoothly
• Data is migrated correctly and all checks are complete
