Extra Data length meaning

after reading the tutorial does increasing the extra buffer size will improve accuracy with minor cutting off my words? should im using 48 chunk number and it works fine but i feel like it can be better by increasing extra data length to 132000 but i still have no idea what that setting does even after reading the tutorial.

so it seems that 48hz on the output device is a must but which bit? 16 or 24 bit?
