<p>Each side of the boom vise is comprised of three nested parts. A threaded mount is
attached to the boom mount. An inner sleeve fits into the threaded mount. A threaded
cap, fits over the sleeve and screws onto the mount. When the cap is tightened, the
sleeve compresses the boom, holding it in place.</p>

<p>Use a plate socket similar to the quickshoe socket on the tripod. Rather than a turnable
locking screw, use a sliding plate held in place by two bolts and springs. The top would
have a thumbplate to allow the locking wedge to be slid back for changing out the
camera.</p>
