Ubuntu 18.04 comes with Python 3.6.7 in its updates repo, which will be too old for the novelWriter 1.7 release. Python 3.6 has already reached end of life, and Launchpad will not build packages for 3.7 on 18.04 anyway.

Any users still on Ubuntu 18.04 would get novelWriter 1.6.x packages only.
