Steam overlay does not show up in the Sunshine stream on my moonlight device even though it is visible on the native streamer device

Describe the bug

When using Moonlight on my Android device and I press the GUIDE button, it opens steam overlay on the computer directly but the overlay is not visible on the streaming client i.e. moonlight on android

What did you expect to happen?

I expect to see 1 for 1 exactly the same image on my PC as I see on the moonlight android app, however it seems the steam overlay gets hidden.

If I move the mouse while the stream to moonlight is connected, then suddenly the overlay appears on moonlight as well. As soon as the mouse disappears, then the overlay disappears as well.

I am seeing this too. It also impacts the performance overlay which also only shows via the sunshine stream once the mouse is moved.

i tryed the service https://clouddeck.app/ its an Nobara Linux 39 in gamemode .. and all overlays works perfect. they found a way

This issue is still relevant with the latest updates of Bazzite (today) and it's quite a frustrating one at that. It makes game streaming quite hard to use and I find myself playing fewer games because of it.

I can confirm that this issue also happens on the moonlight-qt version, so i don't think it's related to android implementation of moonlight / or moonlight itself

• a raspberry pi 5 on raspian with the official moonlight-qt client
• retroid pocket 5 with official moonlight android client
