Wrong syntax in update.Date() crashes R

The following crashes (!) R:

library(lubridate)
mydate=Sys.Date()
update(mydate, 1)

It is of course the wrong syntax (it should be, e.g., update(mydate, days=1)). But still, it should return an error message, not crash R.
