In typical Org mode export workflows (HTML, LaTeX and such), a :noexport: tag in Org makes it so that the tree doesn't appear in the exported file. The generalisation of :noexport: is via EXCLUDE_TAGS per the docs, but for now...

* Description:
This subtree should be exported
* Subgoals:                                                        :noexport:
- This subtree should not be "exported".
 - I.e., it should not appear in the rendered HTML.
- Firn would need to decide what to do with links that appear in non-exported nodes.
- [ ] Do they "count" as backlinks [[Yes]] or [[No]]?

This is addressed in ae5a7ad and will be in the next release.
