Currently, the installers-conda.yml GitHub workflow builds external dependents python-lsp-server, qtconsole, and spyder-kernels for every triggered workflow that is not a release or pre-release. The state of these subrepos does not change often, and therefore it is not necessary to build them for every trigger. Instead they should be built and cached according to the subrepo commit. These steps can take up to 5min to build, so could present significant resource savings.
