Hello, I'm Alex😊 !

There's a few things behind my obsession with open source. I have only learned how to code in the past 2 years but I've known about open source for a while, from when I went down the rabbit hole of wanting to know why one of the best video players, VLC was free. The answer was, it's supported by a community of open source contributors. In my coding journey I've realised how integral open source is, and now that I know how to give back, I aim to waste no opportunity.

You may not know this but in the distant past I was a filmmaker down here in South Africa and I noticed the disorganisation of information about the local film industry. I decided to create ScreenList, a open source wiki database of every local film ever created. It's a project I'm most passionate about as it is at the intersection of my interests.
