I've been away from my laptop for one week, while using Signal on my iphone. Today in particular, I sent a number of images to a contact. While starting Signal on my laptop, I had to wait about 2 hours for Signal to work through some 400 messages before startup. That wait was not connected to internet connection issues, as my network was not near maxed out. Once Signal finally started, I found all messages had been received except something that I had apparently sent to myself. There I see, "Error Handling Incoming Message." I don't see any message on my iphone that didn't come through, though it's possible I deleted it. The debug logs do seem to indicate Signal was having some trouble.
Ok, so two days later I startup my laptop again, and this time it took maybe a half hour to work through some 400+ messages.

Looks like something really went wrong on startup - all sorts of timeouts. I'm going to close this, however, since we have a central issue tracking the problem of slow startup: #3010
