Idea:

@SaschaSchwarze0 recently did an enhancement on Kaniko, see enhancement from some performance degradation we found when running the current v1.3.0 in our side.

Opening this issue for awareness on the need of the upcoming new release. @SaschaSchwarze0 Im assign this one to you.

Acceptance Criteria:

Bump Kaniko strategies to v1.4.0, which will have the enhancement PR.

The release build of 1.4.0 broke. So, will need to wait for this to be fixed to pick it up.
