stupid question: Does the power supply shown in the BOM plug into the arduino or do you strip it and put it into the other board? Also how does the other board go into the arduino, is it like a shield that slots into the pins? Thanks, this was my one concern before starting.

The power supply plugs into the Ramps board, the Arduino gets power through the Ramps board. Checkout the wiring diagram picture at the bottom of the page here. The Ramps board goes on top of the Arduino, it is a shield. It you line the Ramps board on top of the Arduino, you will notice the pins match the corresponding slots on the Arduino. Also, don't be afraid to do extra research when building yours as there is plenty of other tutorials done by people who use the Ramps board to build their own 3D printers; they definitely help explain extra details and configurations.
