To test the correctness of the distributed runtime, we need to set up a distributed test bed that covers various distributed failure scenarios. The existing https://github.com/restatedev/e2e repository is not well-suited because it uses a different toolchain and is mainly focused on testing the correctness of the runtime and service endpoints end-to-end. Ideally, the distributed runtime tests would live in the Restate repository and use the same Rust toolchain we are also using for developing the runtime.
