Are global host rules supported for custom data sources?

We tried to configure a global host rule for a custom data source but it isn't clear if this is supported. Can someone please clarify if it is supported or not?

We did this by ensuring we set environment variables: COMPANY__ZULU__JDK_NEXUS_COMPANY_COM_USERNAME and COMPANY__ZULU__JDK_NEXUS_COMPANY_COM_PASSWORD.

The customer data source name is company_zulu_jdk and the artifacts for it are hosted in nexus at host nexus.company.com. We noticed however when reviewing the logs that there was no indication that the env variables were converted into a global host rule.

NOTE: We have set RENOVATE_DETECT_HOST_RULES_FROM_ENV and are NOT having any issues with global host rules for non custom data sources. It just seems to be the custom source that is failing.
